Training

An 8-week intensive behavioural programme

Our placement therapists need to deliver behavioural therapies, so we require trainees to pass an 8-week training in functional analysis and functional analytic psychotherapy to develop formulation skills. Teaching sessions on FAP, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, schema therapy, Trauma and other approaches will be offered throughout the placement year.  Find out more about the types of therapy we specialise in.

This 8-weeks training is delivered by the UK's only certified FAP trainer, Tien Kuei. It's intense and rigorous, with a special emphasis on experiential in-session therapeutic processes, so be prepared to dive deep to super-charge your ability as an agent for change.

This will suit volunteers who are eager to learn, and most importantly be courageously self-reflective and compassionate.

You can join the behavioural training without the placement to gain a grounding in behavioural treatments. Please email us for cost.
